Another fun commission from Forgotten Star Brewing in Fridley MN. This time they wanted 3 different trophies for their game leagues; Bocce Ball, Kubb, and Curling. I was to make the trophies similar and cohesive, but different and unique in their own way. I think I accomplished that! And there plenty of empty spots ready for future league winners’ names to go on the trophies and they can live on as champions for years to come.

There hasn’t been a post in a little bit, but I did just finish up a Wood Lake Map and a North Stars Stained Glass piece. This was my first attempt at a wood Lake Map, and maybe my 60th Stained Glass piece. So, a little contrast to my artwork within the two pieces, but both turned out great and I was very happy with the process and the outcome.

Lucky enough again to meet with the fantastic owners at Forgotten Star Brewing in Fridley MN to take in their ideas and build them out. This time we recreated what their Beer Signage Wall was to look like. I initially built out their signage, but after a few years they knew what changes needed to be made and what they wanted. I designed a 3 panel frame to look like one and had them kept in place by magnets, so the signage would always be level and square. A slightly new way to slide in and out new signs, and having the tilted angle so patrons can read the signs easily. Super fun to design and build, and I think it turned out great!

Back at it again with making another dice game. This time Maddy found a photo online of how to play a form of a football dice game, and I got to go into design mode! I took the idea and ran with it. This was very fun getting to incorporate the footprint of US Bank Stadium, the Vikings font in the endzone and field numbers, first down chains, and a new scoreboard. You basically play an 8 possession game and it plays just like a real game. Super fun to play, and even better to look at.

We were lucky enough to get to partner with our favorite cider company, Wild State Cider in Duluth MN, and make a bunch of product to sell in their taproom. Most of the items were made pre-Christmas and I hope they made their way into numerous stockings! Then this past weekend we were able to drop off the remaining product. All together they got wood and acrylic keychains, Lake Superior and their logo earrings, magnets, ornaments, and dyed leather keychains. Get up there and check out some merch as well as some cider!

I was asked to design a wedding gift for a couple that revolved around a bookshelf, where family members could give a saying to the newly married couple. The "title" of the book is their saying, and the "author" is which family member said it. Another fun project doing something a little different, I usually do not watercolor, and it was great trying it again. I also tried some new techniques with the frame which I think worked out pretty well too! Always great learning and creating.
